Finding Balance, Making Progress
I know! It's been way to long for the few that may actually read this I know you're wondering: It's been nearly two months where have you been? I've doing a lot of work with ChaCha and other stuff. Rusty should be done with his helmet soon, hopefully. There is one spot left that needs to fill out.
I'm sitting here watching Tropic Thunder which, although it is crazy, has become one of my favorite funny movies ever.
The kids are good, Chloe is sick, Rusty is playing and Brittany is into her books and games.
My birthday was last Saturday. 24 years old now! Yay!
Oh I remember what I was going to say! My Dodge baby is down. The oil pan has a crack in it. I've got to remember I'm not really in the country anymore. I'm so use to taking short cuts on country road and now the car has paid the price for it. I hear it's fixable and it could be a lot worse, so I'm trying to be patient. God needs to help me on that. LoL. It's funny because I usually don't really go anywhere, but now that my car is out of commission for the time being I've become stir crazy.
So I'm sure you're wondering about the title.
I often frequent a local forum for mothers. It helps a lot especially when I go on there, only to realize I'm going through something or feeling something that someone else is going through. It helps to know I'm not alone.
The other day I came across a thread titled "Stay at Home Mom vs. Housewife". It caught my attention. I never really thought there was a difference.
The lady who created the thread stated that a friend of hers (who is husband-and childless but has an opinion on everything) told her she was a lazy housewife. She agreed with her friend. She said the reasoning was because she was a stay at home mom and not a housewife. A housewife takes care of the house, hence the name.
This sparked a lot of moms agreeing. Myself included. I'll admit, I hate to clean. Let me rephrased that, I hated to clean. Granted it's still not on the top of my list, but I've found ways to make it tolerable. Which is the balance and progress. I've found a balance in my day to be able to tend to my housewife duties as well as my stay at home mom duties, because to me they are equally important, and my housewife work had been neglected for way too long.
It's nice to finally have some balance. I know I'm growing up….
Anyway, enough of that. I would talk more but I've got to make magic in the kitchen! Ice cream magic. This is what I did last time!
