Catching Up

Hey all!

Not much going on tonight! I got some great spring cleaning done over the last couple of weeks. I got my kitchen in order and well as my bathroom. I got stuff to organize everything and it's great! It makes things so much easier. I'll be the first to admit, cleaning is not my favorite thing, but I know I'm not alone. Lol.

Anyway. It frees up a lot of time, I'm able to get a lot more other things done. More laundry, writing (which even with all of my free time I have done as much as I should be doing), and working with ChaCha!

I did start back up writing. This is something I'm determined not to let become another unfinished hobby, like other writings or knitting, or crocheting.

I started the steps to head back to school. Waiting on financial aid, hopefully that will go decently.

Oh my goodness! Today I was walking out of Wal-Mart, cart full of groceries, and I saw a lady in front of me with a calla lily. For those of you who don't know, calla lilies are my favorite flowers. The woman had a potted calla lily! I'd know that flower anyway. When I first got to Wal-Mart, I was enjoying the beauty of spring. Feeling the niceness of the 85 degree weather, and wishing I had a garden. A garden full of different flowers. I thought to myself, "Maybe this year, I'll get a potted plant and actually take care of it and let it survive." But by the time I found a parking spot (up near the front too! Favor as my dad would say), I came to grips with the fact that I don't have a green thumb. But then I saw it. This beautiful little white flower, calling to me with its siren song and I wanted to take my basket and dash all the way to the other side of the super Wal-Mart, even though I'd already paid for my items, and by a potted calla lily. It couldn't have been no more than five to ten dollars. But once again, I had to remind myself, I don't have a green bone, let alone thumb, in my body. I have a brown thumb. I would be doing a great disservice to this beautiful plant that did not ask for such a non gardener who wishes they more horticultural. I could not do that to this flower. Plus, I knew my husband would heckle me for buying a plant that he knew I would water for maybe a day, and then give up on it. I may have denied it at first. But I know, he's right. So with a heavy heart I kept walking to my car.

But I may go back and get it, for photography purposes! I took some pictures last year of a beautiful flower. This is just one of the hundreds of pictures I took. I would have posted others but these things pop up HUGE and I have to scale it down quite a bit! Lol I really do enjoy taking photos of plants. And I think I've gotten a lot better in my photography since last year.

Lately, I've been working on focus shots with my camera. I think I've gotten pretty good. Well, I don't have much left to talk about. Just wanted to catch up and put my little spill in about gardening. LoL! But I did take pretty good care of these flowers. So maybe….who knows. I know what Alex would really say. He'd tell me I could do whatever I wanted to if I just tried hard enough. So we shall see!
